In the Works – July 2015

Anika forged our biggest collaborative presentation to date. At tdancing foolshis years Governing for Racial Equity Conference in Seattle, Washington, Anika presented alongside the Center for Social Inclusion, the Kirwan Institute, the Insight Center for Community and Economic Development and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at Multonomah County. The workshop had over 100 attendees and ended in a song and dance. Success!

Anika also was able to attend the Allied Media Conference and Netroots Nation this year, making new connections and learning more skills to bring back to the team at Public Works.

Marcia and Elaine travelled to Oregon to launch a new set of research there on attitudes about government, in conjunction with Neighborhood Partnerships. While there we also began a set of work with Children First for Oregon and visited with staff from the Oregon Center for Public Policy.

The Public Works team travelled to DC to in attend a launch party for Indivisible – Yay! Public Works’ fantastic Board of Directors was also in town, both for the gathering for Indivisible, as well as for its own quarterly meeting.
