Public Works in the Field

In the Field_Oregon VoiceThe New Year started off with lots of great work in the field. Elaine headed out to Oregon to help close out the last class of our third Advocates College and a second “mini-boot camp” session with key partners of Oregon Voice and Neighborhood Partnerships. Patrick travelled to New York where he participated in a discussion with other national organizations hosted by the Roosevelt Institute on the use of narrative as an organizing and advocacy tool, and then he joined Elaine in Oregon for some work with a learning cohort of the Northwest Health Foundation.

In the Field_Roosevelt InstituteThe Georgetown University Public Policy Institute held their first annual conference and Patrick participated as part of a child advocacy panel. Public Works has been following the good work of the Roosevelt Institute, and in February we attended the release of their great report on Millennials and Government. We’re looking forward to future partnership opportunities.

Elaine also conducted a workshop for leaders of private- and public-sector labor unions, hosted by the Harvard Trade Union Program. In the Field_Harvard Trade Union Program
