NASA is “All about that Space”

NASA videoWhen was the last time a federal agency got more than 1.6 million views on YouTube for a video promoting its work? We can’t think of an example either. But this month employees of NASA’s Johnson Space Center did just that when they capitalized on the popularity of the pop hit All About that Bass and “went viral” with this hilarious but simultaneously informative video promoting the Orion spacecraft’s successful first mission and the work of the Johnson Space Center. Finding opportunities to reveal the actual work of government employees is an essential element of enabling Americans to have a more practical, less myth-based, dialogue about this thing we call government. Great work, Johnson Space Center! Who’s next? We’d like to see the CDC in action – after all, they’ve already gone “viral.”  Ba-dump-bump.
